It was a straitforward sort of job. The starter in a 2002 Nissan King Cab v6 is held in place by two bolts that go through the exterior of the transmission case and another bolt connecting the starter to the negative side of the electrical system. The positive side is via a harness with a quick disconnect.

I spent about three hours reading, watching a couple of videos, and verifying my suspicions with a flashlight under the truck, then about an hour actually pulling & replacing the starter.

The square block is the wiring harness that needs to be unplugged.

Once you see how it comes out, the replacement goes so much more quickly.
