1st pic is 30/ 1 second frames. 2nd pic is my attempt to digitally remove the sky glow from the city. 12p sits crazy low on the western horizon just after sunset, we tried to see it through binoculars, but couldn't quite make it out from the city.

Exposed the moons first, then exposed Jupiter, cut and paste to make the different exposures work out.

I missed this jet by less than a second.

Christopher Babb, it's not easy with binoculars the first time, and it's almost impossible without them. Once you've seen it, it is easier to find. Best time is between 915 and 1015 PM, best place is a north, preferably a nw facing beach like first landing, although we saw it from the Greek Orthodox parking lot with binoculars, but darker is better. took a pic of my canon D30 screen, using 50mm lens. Better results than the telescope. This comet is right at the horizon, I only have about half an hour each night to set up and work on shooting methods. Complicated by the setting sun and changing sky brightness the whole time.

Using a 5" mak with a digital camera. Leaves a lot of room for improvement. Back to the library.
